I don’t go on reddit much these days, mostly because the larger subreddits are filled with the kind of people who leave comments on YouTube, but was curious as to why I was suddenly receiving weird abuse.

For me the issue was much less about whether you should publish the pictures, and more if you should give the reader the option to see them. I had no such choice when The Atlantic, Newsweek and The Guardian pushed the images out online yesterday.
If the Guardian, or any trusted publication, say that there is a picture of a dead guy, I’m happy to take their word for it. If they let me...
